The only thing better than a warm, sunny day in May is a warm, sunny day in May spent out on the water! We hope everyone has been enjoying this lovely spring weather, despite the rain, and can spend some time on the lake.
Events At The Club
Our Grand Opening event this past month was a success! We want to thank everyone who came out and supported us, and our awesome team, for putting together such a fun event. Members were able to eat some yummy food (the mac-n-cheese was amazing), tour the new boats, play some games, and joined us for the ribbon cutting and champagne toast! Here is a recap video of the day if you weren’t able to make it out.
We are excited to be hosting our Summer Kick-Off Social on the yacht, Carolina Grace on Lake Norman! The party will be on May 21st starting at 1 pm until 4:30 pm. You and your loved ones can drop in at any time, we will be staying docked. Make sure to RSVP here or on any of the invites you receive in your email.
Boat of the Month: Docktopus
Looking for a pontoon that’s perfect for family fun? Look no further than the Avalon Funship, one of the newer additions to our fleet! The double-decker, named Docktopus, is equipped with all the features you need for a great day on the water. It resides at Morningstar McLean Marina in Belmont.
You can relax on the aft, with seating and cup holders, enjoy the view from the top deck, and use the ski tow bar to pull the kids on a tube. When it’s time to cool off, climb up the stern ladder and take a plunge from the slide into the water. Kids will love the wet slide, while parents can kick back and relax in the shade provided by the full upper deck. Plus, with the Bluetooth stereo, you’ll have everything you need for a perfect day on the water. Take a video tour of the boat here. We know Docktopus will be a hit with the whole family!
Member Housekeeping
If you have been in ResNet within the past month, you probably noticed the waitlist option. We are excited about this new feature. It will make it easier to get more members out on the lake during our busier months! Making a waitlist request is very similar to making a normal reservation. Click here to watch a video tutorial on everything about the waitlist. We’ve been noticing problems when using the ResNet app, so we recommend accessing the website through Safari or Google Chrome on your phone or computer.
We also want to remind everyone that spur-of-the-moment reservations do not count against your other regular reservations! These reservations can be made with at least 1-hour notice before you would like to take out a boat. Spur-of-the-moment reservations should be used when you would like to take a boat out that day or the following day and you don’t already have a reservation. Anytime after the two-day window, you would then need to make a regular reservation. To inquire about a spur-of-the-moment reservation, be sure to call or text the dock phone to see what is available during that day and time!
As the season starts and there are more locations and boats to choose from, we understand that it can be confusing. Therefore, please double-check that you are making your reservations at the correct marina you want to visit! If you need to cancel or make any changes to your reservations, please call or text the dock phone number that correlates with the marina you’re going to. Here are the dock phone numbers. Be sure to save them as a contact in your phone!
Kings Point – Lake Norman: (704) 765-2165
Safe Harbor PYC – Lake Norman: (980) 613-0725
Tega Cay – Lake Wylie: (803) 470-4085
McLean – Lake Wylie: (980) 290-1933

Other News
May is National Water Safety Month, so it is a great time to remind ourselves of the importance of staying safe around water. According to the CDC, there are thousands of unintentional drownings per year. This is why it is so important to stay attentive around water, whether it’s a pool, lake, or ocean. Wearing a life jacket while boating or doing other water-related activities can greatly reduce the risk of drowning. By staying vigilant and following basic safety rules, we can prevent accidents and ensure that we all have a fun and safe time on the water!
