Opened in August of 2020, Falls Lake is one of the newest Freedom Boat Club locations. This undeveloped, 12,000+ acre reservoir is located in Durham, Wake, and Granville counties. Falls Lake extends 28 miles (45 km) up the Neuse River. The lake is named for the Falls of the Neuse, a once whitewater section of the river that fell from the Piedmont into the lower Coastal Plain submerged during construction of the lake.
A perfect complement to hiking and campaign around the lake, boating on Falls Lake provides a great opportunity to take in the beauty of the surrounding area from a different viewpoint.
