Des Moines is our saltwater jump off point for the lower Puget Sound. Cruise down to Tacoma, Gig Harbor or simply make the quick run up to Alki beach in West Seattle for brunch. Des Moines is only a 20 minute drive south from Seattle and a 25 minute drive north from Tacoma! On sunny days the view of Mount Ranier and the surrounding mountains will take your breath away.
