Montara’s Naxos brings new levels of quality and innovation to pontoon boat buyers. Having toured Montara’s Tennessee manufacturing facility, we saw the full-length keel and tightly and precisely placed C-channel being installed firsthand. Out on the water, we experienced the smooth ride and solid feel that results from those construction features that this tri-toon with 26-inch-diameter tubes delivers. Powered by a 300 hp Mercury Verado, the Naxos (named for a Greek isle, by the way) hit 43.5 mph, accelerated with authority, and maneuvered smartly.
Interior features that stand out include the fiberglass helm. This impressed us, with its 5-inch raised height, overall ergonomics, and standard 12-inch touchscreen MFD and Polk Audio head. Two seating plans are available, and though less flashy than the aforementioned luxuries, we applauded the numerous cellphone charging stations and free-flowing drainage built in to all underseat stowage. The Montara Naxos pontoon seats 15, and the upholstery is designer-style.
